 Standing Giant Day 12. Grundarfjörður -> Vatnsnes [212km] Although we have skipped the rugged road of western fjords, but Snæfellsnes go to the Vatnsnes more than two hundred kilometers. This still regarded as the worst traffic of Iceland , nearly two hundred kilometers,almost entirely unpaved gravel road,bumpy nearly six hours, just for that one standing in the sea of boulders. Secretive Wrecked DC-3 Plane on Sólheimasandur   Leave Highway 1, We drive on the unpaved gravel roads for quite a while. Looking ahead, surrounded by a barren, occasionally encounter a passing oncoming car, telling us we are on the right way.  We drive for few kilometers alone, then we arrive the secretive crash site. It is the 1973 US Navy Douglas Super DC-3 Wreckage. It made an emergency landing because of bad weather in Iceland. Fortunately no casualties.
